"Haute in the City" Holiday Haute
Happy holidays! One of my most favorite things about this season is that there are parties galore and plenty of reasons to deck the halls in fashionable jolly! With a new party popping up every week, it’d be easy to break the bank in the name of fashion. Take the extra step to be just as creative with ideas on how to affordably rock your holiday fashion skills no matter how many parties you attend. As much as possible, try to select interchangeable pieces that will provide a variety of viable outfit options.Let’s get this party started with what’s trending. Though I tend to habitually fall for the little black dress, I’m going to step outside my closet now and encourage you to find your fierce this party season and try on some of the bold color and fabric trends that will continue into the hottest New Year’s parties.If you’re dying to truly leave them wanting more, there’s so much fashion drama to stir up this season by introducing vibrant colors in the flirtiest fabrics like feathers, velvet, sequins and satin. Test your daring side and don’t sleep on the funky revamp of the '80s inspired dress or the faux fur phenomenon.
Dresses and Jumpers
There are many hidden treasures amongst holiday party shopping. However, the thing I totally adore about fashion is that it allows you to show off your brazen personal style or to completely reinvent yourself on any given day. Selecting the perfect party dress doesn’t have to be a daunting task.
Whether sexy cocktail or glamourous gala, you won’t miss the mark with forever-classic sequins, velvets and satin. But ladies, do dare to kick it up a notch with something a little '80s-inspired or tickle your feather fancy with the latest trim trend.
Almost as much as I love chocolate, a killer jumper more than satisfies my designer sweet tooth. A jumper’s sleek style and designs are fashionably infinite and it’s a great versatile piece when experimenting with trends, colors and textures.
Remember my golden rule: Shop for your specific body type and you’ll always hit the fashion mark!
Deck the Halls
The holiday would never be complete without decking the halls with just the right touch of glitz and glam. A great way to incorporate a dashing statement piece of your own into a subtle holiday look is with a jewelry bag. I’ve heard it said that one should choose a purse that is so special you could literally forego the jewelry without compromising the "wow."
But there are other ways to go for the glitz and add a bit of sparkle for an unforgettable look. I’m personally head-over-heels in love with the choice of accessory combinations that will perfectly complete any look. From diamanté-embellished bags and belts to sultry sandals, the glam and glitz accessory possibilities are endless.
